1 Geolocation & Precision Astronomical Calculations
When you use the Salat Prayer Times or Qibla Compass, you may optionally allow NoorHub to detect your location via your device's browser GPS API (navigator.geolocation), or manually pick a city from our preset index.
Crucial Transparency Disclosure: Your latitude and longitude coordinates are processed strictly on the client side by JavaScript running within your local browser sandbox. The mathematical algorithms that calculate solar altitude, solar declination, the equation of time, and the great-circle bearing to the Holy Kaaba execute entirely on your CPU. Your coordinates are never sent across the internet, logged on any server, or transmitted to any third party.
2 What We Store in LocalStorage (And Why)
NoorHub uses standard HTML5 localStorage solely to preserve your non-personal operational preferences between visits so you do not need to reconfigure them each time:

NoorHub does not use any commercial ad-tracking cookies, session cookies, marketing pixels, social media widgets, or cross-site tracking beacons. We do not engage with programmatic ad exchanges or audience profiling networks. When you recite an ayah or calculate your zakat, your spiritual focus is sacred and unmonitored.
4 External Assets & Content Delivery
To maintain swift global performance and clean typography, NoorHub loads public styling and font assets from reputable global delivery networks:
- Tailwind CSS CDN: Delivers utility stylesheets. No personal data is captured.
- Google Fonts: Delivers Arabic and Latin typefaces (Amiri, Plus Jakarta Sans, Reem Kufi) for legible Quranic and hadith display. Only standard technical HTTP requests necessary to render the font files take place.
5 Financial Dignity: Zakat and Inheritance Confidentiality
When you calculate your annual Zakat or plan an estate distribution through the Faraid calculator, you may enter sensitive figures regarding your gold holdings, cash reserves, business assets, or family structure. We have designed these calculators to be completely stateless. No financial information ever leaves your device. If you close your browser tab or clear your browser data, your entries are purged locally.
